Relfia Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Relfia - AI Journal ("Relfia", "the app", "we", "our") processes information when you use the Relfia mobile app. Relfia provides journaling, mood tracking, reminders, photo attachments, voice notes, optional location attachment, cloud backup, AI-assisted reflections, ads, and premium subscription features.

1. Developer and Contact

Relfia is provided by the developer or publisher identified in Relfia's Google Play store listing. For privacy, data protection, account deletion, or user data requests, you may use the account deletion and data controls available inside the app, or contact us through the developer contact channel shown in Relfia's Google Play store listing. We may ask for limited information, such as the email address linked to your account, to verify and process your request.

However, journal text is a free writing area, so you may choose to include information about your health, emotions, beliefs, relationships, identity, or other sensitive topics. Depending on your location, our processing may rely on one or more legal bases, including performance of a contract, your consent, our legitimate interests, compliance with legal obligations, or other bases permitted by applicable privacy laws such as GDPR, UK GDPR, KVKK, LGPD, CCPA/CPRA, or similar laws.

5. Local Storage and Cloud Backup

Relfia stores some data locally on your device. The current app version requires an internet connection for account verification, security, purchase verification, sync checks, and online services. If there is no internet connection, some or all app features may be unavailable.

Cloud backup is optional and may require Premium. If you enable cloud backup, supported journal data saved while cloud backup is enabled may be backed up to Firebase Cloud Firestore, and supported media may be backed up to Firebase Cloud Storage under your account. Entries and media created while cloud backup was disabled are not automatically bulk-uploaded when cloud backup is later enabled, unless they become part of a future explicit sync or save action. Turning off cloud backup stops new supported data from being sent to the cloud; previously synced data may remain until you delete it or delete your account.

6. Encryption and Security

Relfia is designed to encrypt sensitive journal fields and supported media before cloud storage, and to use user-specific Firebase paths and security rules. Encryption keys are stored through secure device storage and may be backed up in a user-linked way to support account recovery and device changes.

This design protects local and cloud storage, but it is not true end-to-end encryption: Relfia's backend can technically access the user-linked backup of your encryption key. This access is used only to support account recovery and to provide AI features. When AI features are used, Relfia's backend may temporarily decrypt or process selected journal content to generate the requested AI output. Data in transit is protected with HTTPS/TLS where supported, but no electronic storage or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

7. AI Features

Relfia's AI features run through our backend, not directly from the mobile app. When you use AI features or when eligible automatic summaries are generated, selected and limited parts of your journal content, dates, mood, tags, or prompts may be processed to create summaries, letters, suggestions, or personalized prompts. Photos and voice files are not intended to be sent to the AI provider. Relfia uses the OpenAI API as its AI provider. Under OpenAI's API data controls, data sent to the API is not used to train OpenAI models by default and may be retained for a limited period for abuse monitoring; these terms are subject to OpenAI's current policies. AI outputs are automatically generated and may be incomplete, inaccurate, or inappropriate for your situation. They are not medical, psychological, therapeutic, legal, financial, or other professional advice.

We do not sell your personal information. Third-party services may process information under their own privacy policies and terms.

10. International Transfers

Relfia uses global infrastructure providers such as Google/Firebase, Google Play, and OpenAI. Your information may be processed or stored outside your country, including in the United States, the European Union, or other locations where these providers operate. International transfers are handled using applicable legal mechanisms, contractual safeguards, standard contractual clauses, adequacy decisions, consent, or other mechanisms permitted by law.

11. Ads and Analytics

Free users may see banner ads in the app. Premium users are intended not to see ads. Google Mobile Ads may process information such as IP-derived approximate location, ad interactions, diagnostics, Android advertising ID, app set ID, or similar identifiers. You can manage advertising preferences through your device and Google account settings.

Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics help us understand basic app usage, reliability, and crashes. We do not intentionally include journal text, photos, or voice notes in analytics events.

12. Purchases and Subscriptions

Premium subscriptions are processed through Google Play Billing. Relfia does not receive or store your payment card details. Google Play manages payment, renewal, cancellation, and refund flows under its own policies. Relfia may store purchase status and premium entitlement information locally and in Firebase to provide Premium features.

13. Retention and Deletion

Local data may remain on your device until you delete it, delete your account, or uninstall the app. If cloud backup is enabled, backed-up data may remain in Firebase while your account is active. When you delete an entry or delete your account, we start deletion of related local and cloud data where technically possible. Some data may remain for a limited time in backups, security logs, crash reports, payment records, or service provider systems.

We may delete free or non-premium accounts and associated cloud data after 12 months of inactivity. Active premium accounts are excluded from this automated inactive-account cleanup while they remain marked as premium. We may not always send a separate notice before automated inactive-account deletion.

14. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, restrict, or object to certain processing of your personal information, withdraw consent, or complain to a data protection authority. You can use in-app account deletion and data controls, review our account deletion instructions, or contact us through the developer contact channel shown in Relfia's Google Play store listing.

Relfia is not designed specifically for children. You must comply with the age and parental consent requirements that apply in your location. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has provided personal information through Relfia, please contact us through the developer contact channel shown in the Google Play store listing.

16. Health and Crisis Situations

Relfia is a journaling and wellbeing app. It is not a medical, psychological, therapeutic, crisis, or emergency service. AI outputs and prompts are not professional advice. If you may harm yourself or someone else, are experiencing an intense mental health crisis, or face immediate danger, do not wait for the app. Contact emergency services in your location or a qualified health professional.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version will be available on this page, in the app, or through the public privacy policy link used in the store listing.
